Use of a bandage
Bandages are made of elastic fabric to protect injured parts of the body. They are mainly used in cases of overstrain and to stabilise joints. Due to their fabric, they have a slight decongestant effect, as they cause a slight compression. Similar to orthoses, they are also used for prophylaxis during stress and other indications. Bandages are mostly used for protection and orthoses more for support, although the line cannot be drawn exactly here and questions should always be clarified with a doctor.
